Currently, there are three research units supervised by the Deanship of Scientific Research:
Power electronics & signal processing research unit " PESPRU "
Power electronics & signal processing research unit " PESPRU " was established at Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU) in the academic year 2005. Taking into account the strategic mission of Palestine Polytechnic University to be a leader in creating and applying new technologies in this field, Furthermore this unit also aims to place advanced position in serving the local and global industrial sectors. Research activity in this field should be realized, therefore strengthen the relations with other similar institution.
The Renewable Energy and Environment Research Unit (REERU)
REERU was established in 1999 as a core research basis in energy and environmental protection. After its inception REERU managed to build and implement several initiatives and projects on bilateral and multilateral levels. The tangible outcomes are four laboratories that can serve the scientific research as well as providing services to the community. In addition, the human resources development process is continuous in diversity of issues related to main fields; energy and environmental protection.
Objectives
Developing and promoting research capabilities and capacities in issues related to energy (including: renewable and alternative resources, energy policies and strategies, energy efficiencies and energy auditing) and environment protection (including: environmental technology, environmental awareness, and climate change impact). This includes the development of human resources and infrastructure.
- Promoting the role of the university in serving the community through initiating and implementing directive applied researches and essential services.
- Promoting and developing national and international cooperation in scientific research and innovation.
Biotechnology Training and Research Unit "BioTRU"
Biotechnology Training and Research Unit "BioTRU" was established in agreement with the mission of the Plaestine Polytechnic University which is dedicated to serve the local and regional communities through transferring and integrating advanced technologies into the Palestinian market. The Unit aims to lead the development of applied research and high-level training activities for graduate students. Therefore, the main strategic objects of the unit will be: To carry out applied research projects that will address the needs of the market, this would be done in cooperation with different market sectors. To provide the Palestinian market with well-qualified professionals.
