Selection of a Faculty Member as a Reviewer of two Conferences. |

Dr. Jamil Itmazi from IT Center of Excellence at the Palestine polytechnic University has been selected as a Member of International Program Committee and a Reviewer of two Conferences: the “4rd International Conference on Interactive Mobile and Computer Aided Learning (IMCL2009)”, which will hold at Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Amman – Jordan, and at the “eLearning and eResearch in the Arab World” Conference, which will be part of the “5th Congress of Scientific Research Outlook in the Arab World: Scientific Innovation and Sustained Development”, which will hold in Fez-Morocco in the period 26-30 October 2008.

1. 8th German Open Conference in Probability and Statistics (Aachen - Germany).
2. Conference on Order Statistical Data and its Application (Aachen - Germany) where he presented a paper on "The Effectiveness of Multistage Ranked Set Sampling in Stratifying the Population" |

Internal Incentive Research Grant workshop |

Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research DGSSR has organized a workshop of three hours Tuesday 26th February, 2008, which has been organized as part of the many activities accompanying the Internal Incentive Research Grant in benefit of the researchers and staff at the PPU, during this workshop researchers who won the grant in 2006-2007 have disseminated their research work in presence of many researchers and beneficiaries in other universities and institutions. Dr. Khatib has assured that Palestine Polytechnic University is adopting a leading policy in supporting scientific research despite of all the Financial difficulties the university is experiencing nowadays, Khatib added that DGSSR and PPU will continue supporting the research projects in the future. |

DGSSR has celebrated the Final session of the Research Council Cycle for 2005-2007 Wednesday 2nd January,2008.
This ceremony has been organized in appreciation for the many achievements that have been accomplished by the Research council during the last two years.
Dean Dr.Khatib, has confirmed that the deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research will develop a new stratiges to support the scientific research at the Palestine Polytechnic University in order to play an effective role in the sustainable development in Palestine.

بدعوة من المركز الوطني لأبحاث الجينوم في باريس، قام د. يعقوب الأشهب بإلقاء محاضرة علمية حول المشاريع البحثية في مجال المعلوماتية الحيوية التي يجري العمل على تطويرها في وحدة التكنولوجيا الحيوية بجامعة بوليتكنك فلسطين، كما تم الاتفاق مع المعهد الفرنسي على إطلاق مشروع تعاون مشترك. كما قام د. يعقوب بدعوى من مركز مرمرة للأبحاث والتكنولوجيا بزيارة علمية لبحث آفاق التعاون المشترك في مجالات التدريب والمشاريع البحثية ولقد اتفق الجانبان على البدء في مشروع بحثي مشترك في مجال الامراض الوراثية، كما تم الاتفاق على بدء برنامج تدريبي مشترك سيقوم فيه د. يعقوب بالمشاركة بدورة تدريبية متقدمة في مجال المعلوماتية البيولوجية في المعهد التركي على أن يتم ترتيب دورات لاحقة بين الطرفين.
